It’s important to be able to answer the question, is your cat pregnant?  Following are a few tips on how to tell if she is pregnant or just  experiencing a cat in heat behavior

First of all, female cats may have their first bleeding period at about 4 or 5 months of age.  As with all animals, some breeds, such as the Persian, may have their first bleeding period even as late as two years of age.  Parenthood can begin as early as 6 months and last as late as the male and female cats teen years.

It’s not as difficult as you might think to detect how to tell if your cat is pregnant, or, is it just a  cat in  heat behavior.  During the heat cycle the female cat shows most of the signs of being in heat.

In the beginning of the heat period the female cat becomes very loving and “talkative” with other cats as well as people.  She lets every one know that she’s in a mating mood as she rolls around and howls to the top of her lungs–letting all in hearing distance know she is ready for a partner.

Her behavior is extreme as she spends most of her time with her tail to the side of a bottom raised high in the air.

Males always have time for mating, which more often than not, produces baby kittens in about 2-2  1/2 months.

Mother nature has perfected the reproduction cycle of cats to coincide with natures seasons of longer days by having the kittens born in the warmer spring months when food is more available and easier to get.

The first test to determine if the cats heat cycle has created a pregnancy is to notice the female cats nipples.  If they are showing to be pinker and plumper than usual this means she’s about 3 weeks pregnant.  After 4 0r 5 weeks of pregnancy the little golf ball size fetuses will be obvious to the touch.  You will even be able to tell how many kittens there will be.  With the aboveinformation you will be able to answer the question, is your cat pregnant?
